The United States Coast Guard has published a document about the recognition programs.
This Commandant Instruction 1650.26A was published on 6 June 2023.
This Instruction serves to establish, modify, and disestablish a recognition program and provides a comprehensive list of approved Coast Guard recognition programs.
The criteria listed here are for informational purposes only, and the assigned program manager is responsible for the current eligibility requirements and serves as the official point of contact.
All Coast Guard unit commanders and officers must comply with this Instruction.
The Recognition Programs Manual, COMDTINST M1650.26, is canceled.
The responsible program managers maintain the current policy and eligibility requirements for each recognition element.
The list of award recognition programs provided is for informational purposes only and may have changed slightly from previous versions.
The DHS Honorary Awards and Coast Guard Foundation Awards are included in the Appendices, while Coast Guard Public Service Awards have been reassigned.
The Deployable Specialized Forces Awards, Human Resources Management Awards, and Mission Support Awards are included in this Instruction.
The external recognition program listings have been moved to the Appendices.
The Office of Environmental Management, Commandant (CG-47), has reviewed this Instruction and determined that it falls under DHS categorical exclusion A3, having no substantial impact on environmental conditions or violation of applicable laws.
Compliance with NEPA and other environmental requirements is the responsibility of the action proponent.
Records resulting from this Instruction must be managed according to the records retention schedules on the Records Resource Center SharePoint site.

This Instruction complies with Accessibility guidelines, and any necessary changes should be communicated to the Coast Guard Section 508 Program Management Office.
