The UAE Federal Maritime Administration (FMA) represented by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has issued a circular regarding the implementation of Resolution A.1156(32) related to the Harmonized System of Survey and Certification for ships (HSSC).
This circular is addressed to Classification Societies, UAE Shipowners, Ship Management Companies, drydocks and ships maintenance companies, and it was published on 26 January 2023.
The FMA has adopted the IMO Assembly Resolution A.1156(32) Survey Guidelines Under the Harmonized System of Survey and Certification for Ships (HSSC) 2021, related to the Protocol of 1988 relating to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1974, and of the Protocol of 1988 relating to the International Convention on Load Lines, 1966.
All addressed entities should fully comply with the requirements of Resolution A.1156(32) and its annexes, and provide the FMA upon request with a copy of the procedures and documents required for full compliance with the requirements of the resolution.
