The Suez Canal Authority has renewed and amended the circular concerning oil tankers

The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) has released a navigation circular regarding the renewal and amendment of Circular (1/2018) concerning oil tankers.

The Suez Canal Authority will uphold circular no. (1/2018) on "Oil tankers" (Ballast or Laden with Crude Oil), with these changes:

"Article One" is revised as follows:

  1. Oil tankers between US Gulf ports, the Caribbean area, and certain Asian zones will receive rebates:
  • Arabian Gulf ports to "Karachi, Pakistan" get a 20% rebate.
  • Ports from "Karachi, Pakistan" to Cochin, India, receive a 25% rebate.
  • Ports east of Cochin port receive a 75% rebate.
  1. Oil tankers between Latin American ports (from Colombia) and Asian ports (starting from Karachi, Pakistan) get a 75% rebate.

"Article Two" remains unchanged.

This applies to "Oil tankers" departing the "Port of Origin" from July 1 to December 31, 2023.
