The Central Commission for Navigation on the Rhine (CCNR), and the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF), on January 1st, 2023, published the Second edition of the International Safety Guide for Inland Navigation Tank-barges and Terminals (ISGINTT).
This guide has been made by CCNR and OCIMF in association with relevant European organizations.
This document provides updated recommendations for tankers and terminal personnel operating in inland waters.
It provides guidance on the safe transport and handling of liquid cargo carried by inland waterways and applies to oil, chemical, or liquefied gas tankers, as well as terminals handling these types of tankers.
ISGINTT Second edition brings updated safety practice guidance on the operation of tank barges and terminals, including safety checklists for ship/shore and ship/barge interfaces (and vice versa) and transshipment of cargo and slops.
