The Panama Maritime Authority has issued a marine notice informing that as of July 15th, 2023, the Panama Registry will not process new applications to be recognized as Flag Inspector and/or Accident Investigators.
The Panama Maritime Administration will undergo the Member State Audit by the International Maritime Organization, in accordance with Resolution A.1070(28) adopted on December 4th, 2013, known as the IMO Instruments Implementation Code (III Code).
This audit will take place in October 2023 as per the Council schedule.
Starting from July 15th, 2023, the Panama Registry will temporarily cease processing new applications for recognition as Flag Inspector and/or Accident Investigators.
This temporary halt is due to the preparations for the aforementioned audit. Further updates will be provided in due course.
Once the corresponding Departments of this General Directorate of Merchant Marine are ready to receive new applications, this Administration will provide the necessary information for submission.
