The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has issued Port Marine Circular No. 10 of 2024 informing the maritime community that MPA will not renew the bunker supplier and bunker craft operator licenses held by Sentek Marine & Trading Pte Ltd. These licenses are set to expire on 17 September 2024.
Starting from 18 September 2024, Sentek Marine & Trading Pte Ltd will no longer be authorized to operate as a bunker supplier or bunker craft operator within Singapore Port. This means that they will be prohibited from providing or transporting bunkers (marine fuel) in the port.
The circular also serves as a reminder to all bunker licensees, including both bunker suppliers and bunker craft operators, to strictly adhere to the terms and conditions stipulated in their respective licenses. The MPA stresses that any non-compliance with these terms could lead to serious consequences. These may include:
- Non-Renewal of Licenses: Non-compliant behavior may be considered when deciding whether to renew a license.
- Suspension or Cancellation of Licenses: The MPA has the authority to suspend or cancel licenses if terms are violated.
- Enforcement Actions: The MPA may take enforcement actions against licensees who fail to comply with the conditions of their licenses.
