The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has introduced Digital Powered Pleasure Craft Driving Licences (PPCDL) and Advanced Powered Pleasure Craft Driving Licences (APPCDL) as alternatives to physical licence cards, effective 1 September 2024.
Starting 1 September 2024, the issuance of physical PPCDL/APPCDL cards is discontinued. However, current holders of the physical cards can continue to use them if they prefer or switch to the digital version. The digital licence brings significant advantages, including greater convenience for users, quicker access to personal licence details, and reduced processing time for new applicants as there will be no need to wait for physical cards to be printed and delivered.
Additionally, the digital licence features a QR code that allows holders to verify the validity of their licence instantly. Instructions on how to access the digital licence and details regarding the associated QR code can be found in the annexes included in the circular, along with Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
