Singapore: Launch of One Maritime Portal for Withholding Tax Exemption

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has issued a shipping circular regarding the launch of One Maritime Portal for submission of Self-Declaration Form for Withholding Tax Exemption on interest and related payments under the Maritime Sector Incentive on 22 January 2024.

This circular, dated January 17, 2024, notifies Singapore-flagged ship owners assessed under Section 13A of the Singapore Income Tax Act 1947 about the launch of the One Maritime Portal (OMP) on January 22, 2024.

The portal facilitates the submission of the Self-Declaration Form (SDF) for withholding tax exemption on interest and related payments under the Maritime Sector Incentive. There is a black-out period from January 16 to 21, 2024, for the transition, and shipping enterprises are urged to set up CorpPass digital services before the launch.

User guides, FAQs, and support for inquiries are provided to assist in the transition. The SDF submission deadline remains unchanged.
