RMRS: General Regulations for the Classification and Other Activity

The Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS) has issued General Regulations for the Classification and Other Activity that were approved following the established approval procedure and came into force on January 1st, 2023.

The document is divided into 2 sections.

In 1st, general section, some definitions used in the General Regulations for the Classification and Other Activity are given. Additionally, the classification and other activity of the Register are clarified. Also, the application of the rules, listed in the document as well, is described.

In section 2 various surveys are explained:

• surveys during the manufacture of materials and products,
• surveys of ships under construction, reconstruction and conversion,
• surveys of ships in service, and
• surveys in compliance with the requirements of international conventions and agreements.
