Polish Register of Shipping revised its Guidelines for Energy Efficiency of Ships
The Polish Register of Shipping (PRS) has revised the Guidelines for Energy Efficiency of Ships.
This revised document (No. 103/P) was published on April 1st, 2023, and came into force on the same date.
These guidelines apply to all ships of gross tonnage 400 and above engaged on international voyages who are subject to a statutory survey (Resolution MEPC.203(62), amendments to Annex VI to MARPOL).
On January 1st, 2013, the following two instruments ensuring ship energy efficiency entered into force as mandatory requirements:
- Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) – for new ships and ships that have undergone substantial modification, and
- Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan (SEEMP) – for all ships that are subject to statutory survey.
This PRS document contains the above-mentioned guidelines on ship energy efficiency and complements PRS Rules.
