The Panama Maritime Authority has issued the Merchant Marine Notice about the SEEMP Part III submissions.
As of January 1st, 2023, ships of 5,000 GT and above must have a verified ship energy efficiency management plan or SEEMP part III and the evidence of a reduction in carbon intensity must be registered in a new section of the Management System of Carbon Intensity (SEEMP) existing of the ship.
This notice has been published on November 1st, 2022, and will enter into force on January 1st, 2023.
The purpose of this Merchant Marine Notice is to remind all vessel owners/operators and local interested parties that in order to comply with Regulation 26 of Annex VI of the MARPOL Convention as amended, must submit it’s SEEMP Part III in a timely manner.
