Panama Canal: Modifications to the booking periods and slot distribution for Neopanamax vessels

The Panama Canal Authority has issued an advisory about the modifications to the booking periods and slot distribution for Neopanamax vessels.

These changes have been announced on February 17th, 2023, and will enter into force on March 1st, 2023.

This document is addressed to all shipping agents, owners, and operators.

This Advisory to Shipping No. A-05-2023 specifies:

1. duration of the booking periods,

2. booking slot distribution and allocation procedure:

• special period for passenger ships (730 to 366 days),
• booking period 1 (365 to 31 days),
• booking period 1a (30 to 15 days),
• booking period 2 (14 to 4 days),
• an additional slot, and
• booking period 3 (3 to 2 days).
