Panama Canal informs about the new structure of Maritime Services tariffs

The Panama Canal Authority has published a document informing about the new structure of Maritime Services tariffs (related and complementary).

The Advisory to Shipping No. A-34-2023 was published on 13 July 2023.

The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) has announced changes to the Maritime Services tariffs to simplify the current structure and enhance billing efficiency, customer value, and experience.

The Cabinet Council of the Republic of Panama has approved rate adjustments for certain transit-related services based on ACP Board of Directors' recommendations.

The ACP Board also plans to restructure selected Maritime Complementary Services tariffs.

The modifications to the Maritime Services tariffs include:

  • a. New tariffs for additional Maritime Complementary Services due to operational requirements.
  • b. Incorporating current Commercial Services tariffs into Maritime Complementary Services tariffs.
  • c. Streamlining tariffs by consolidating and updating structure, codes, and descriptions. New alphanumeric codes will identify incidental and mandatory tariffs, accounting for vessel categories (Regulars, Supers, Neopanamax).
  • d. Removing unnecessary tariffs.
  • e. Updating tariffs unchanged for more than five years.

These modifications will become effective on 1 January 2024.
