The Republic of the Marshall Islands Maritime Administrator has issued two marine notices, one regarding fees for official documents and services and the other regarding fees for official yacht documents and services.
The documents were published on December 1st, 2022.
Fees for Official Documents and Services
This notice presents the fees for official documents and services from the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) Maritime Administrator (the “Administrator”). It replaces the notice Rev. Dec/2020.
There have been fee increases for seafarer documentation and associated services that the Administrator provides so the amendments are made for Marine Service fees (§2.0) and Seafarer Certification (§13.0).
The notice covers all those with or seeking to register, a vessel (except yachts) in the RMI, and having or intending to obtain certifications for service aboard RMI-flagged vessels.
Fees for Official Yacht Documents and Services
This notice provides the fees for official yacht documents and services from the RMI Maritime Administrator and it supersedes Rev. Oct/2022 notice.
Amendments are made to Yacht Under Construction (§4.0), Regional Office Attendance (§15.1), and Technical Services (§15.4).
Section Statutory Services for Construction, Refits, and Conversions was added, and Seafarer Certification has been amended (§18.0) to include fee increases.
The notice applies to all yachts registered or seeking to register, with the RMI, and to all seafarers having, or intending, to obtain certifications for service aboard RMI-flagged vessels.
There are sections in both notices that apply to non-RMI-registered vessels (section 8.14) / yachts (13.4) seeking a certificate of insurance or other financial security under international convention requirements.
