MARAD publishes advisory for worldwide maritime port vulnerabilities
The U.S. Maritime Administration has issued an advisory titled Worldwide-Maritime Port Vulnerabilities - Foreign Adversarial Technological, Physical, and Cyber Influence.
The advisory was published on 17 February 2023 and will automatically expire on 16 August 2023.
This advisory is intended to alert maritime stakeholders to potential vulnerabilities in port equipment, networks, operating systems, software, and infrastructure.
In recent years, the U.S. government has issued several documents, which are also listed in this advisory, that highlight the risks associated with the integration and use of LOGINK, NucTech scanners, and foreign port cranes.
The advisory also provides maritime industry stakeholders with details on how to protect themselves and who to contact if suspicious activity is detected.
