Liberia Maritime Authority issues several Marine Advisory Notes regarding the ongoing COVID-19 crisis
The Republic of Liberia's Maritime Authority has issued three Advisory Notes in order to to provide guidance to shipowners, operators and seafarers concerning plans and procedures that should be implemented for the protection of the health of the crew, to prepare vessels for shore personnel to board, and actions to take in the event of a suspected positive case onboard.
Moreover, they've provided information on the issuance of medical certificates to seafarers aboard Liberian flagged vessels issued from approved medical practitioners in the Philippines, as well as current requirements for conducting crew change for cargo ships in the Port of Singapore.
Liberia emphasized that The International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) has updated their COVID-19 crew protection guide and that additional details on the implementation of COVID-19 management plans for vessels can be found in WHO’s Implementation guide for COVID-19 management onboard cargo ships and fishing vessels.
