KR amends the Rules/Guidance for the Classification of Steel Ships Pt 1

Korean Register on 2 June 2023 published a notice for Amendments to the KR Technical Rules (Rules/Guidance for the Classification of Steel Ships Pt 1).

KR informed that the 2022 Classification Technical Rules have been amended to reflect the Requests for Establishment/Revision of Classification Technical Rules as below:

Reflected IACS UR S14 (Rev.7 Dec 2022):

• Especially for smaller ships / non-SOLAS ships, Part A and Part B were modified, and a new Part C was added

These amendments will be applicable on or after 1 January 2024.

Also, these amendments will be included in the 2024 edition of Classification Technical Rules which will be published in the first half of 2024.
