Korean Register has published the Guidelines for New Technology Qualification.

This document refers to all new technologies for offshore units and marine vessels that are not subject to industry standards, Rules, or Guidance.

It also provides guidance to those seeking recognition of the maturity level of a proposed new technology.

This document provides qualification activities for new technologies to confirm their ability to perform intended functions in accordance with defined performance requirements.

The application of relevant regulations may be required in addition to the requirements of this Guideline, in the case where the certification or classification is intended in connection with the procedure of qualification of new technology.
