Indian Register of Shipping (IRClass) has published the Rules for Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers, and the Rules for Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers - Volume 1.
The Rules for Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers was published on 1 June 2023, and the Rules for Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers - Volume 1 was published on 1 July 2023.
Both documents are in force from 1 July 2023.
These regulations are relevant to the following types of vessels:
- Single-side skin and double-side skin bulk carriers with a length equal to or exceeding 90 m.
- Double hull oil tankers with a length equal to or exceeding 150 m.
An oil tanker is defined as a vessel required to adhere to Annex I of MARPOL73/78.
These rules pertain to self-propelled ships with unrestricted navigational capabilities.
