The International Maritime Organization has issued a circular MEPC.1/Circ.908 with Format for Reporting to the Organization Uses of a Power Reserve.
This circular was published on 25 April 2024.
- The Marine Environment Protection Committee, at its eightieth session (3 to 7 July 2023), adopted by resolution MEPC.375(80), Amendments to the 2021 Guidelines on the shaft/engine power limitation system to comply with the EEXI requirements and use of a power reserve. The resolution requests that on an annual basis by 30 June every year, the Administration should report to the Secretariat uses of a power reserve over a 12-month period from 1 January to 31 December for the preceding calendar year, with the information recorded in accordance with the relevant guidance in the Guidelines.
- The Marine Environment Protection Committee, at its eighty-first session (18 to 22 March 2024), approved the Format for reporting to the Organization uses of a power reserve.
- Administrations are invited to report uses of a power reserve, if any, by email to ghg@imo.org, using the format set out in the annex.

- Beaufort number and wave height or ice condition, as applicable, to be entered in case of using the power reserve under adverse weather conditions.
