Hong Kong has issued two Marine Department Notices warning vessels of marine works.
Sediment Sampling Works off Southeast of Basalt Island, Sai Kung
For a period of approximately two months, sediment sampling works will be carried out off Southeast of Basalt Island. A working area of approximately 50 metres around each barge will be established and yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the barges.
The hours of work will be round-the-clock, so vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.
Dredging Works at North West Lamma Anchorage
For a period of approximately seven months, dredging works will be carried out at North West Lamma Anchorage. The works will be carried out by a flotilla of vessels including one flat-top work barge, one hopper barge and one tug. A working area of approximately 50 metres around the lighter and barge will be established and yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the lighter and barge.
The hours of work will be round-the-clock and vessels navigating in the vicinity are warned to proceed with caution.
