DNV publishes revised Rules for Classification of Offshore units
Classification Society DNV has issued revised Rules for classification of Offshore drilling and support units.
The July 2022 version of the Rules has clarified several requirements, such as the certification requirements for HELDK class notation, requirements for quality survey plan (QSP) approval and requirements for non-DNV issued documents.
A subsection related to builders responsibility for integration of systems, equipment and components was added to Chapter 1, as well as a subsection covering systems, equipment and components that are damaged during manufacturing, installation or testing.
The C and CA qualifiers of the COAT-PSPC class notation were deleted and a new Ready qualifier was added.
The new edition becomes effective from 01 January 2023.
