Classification Society DNV has published a "class programme" document with added requirements for the new approval of service supplier service 'IHM maintenance service'.

The May 2023 edition brings significant updates compared to the June 2022 edition. These changes aim to enhance the approval process for service suppliers involved in hazardous materials inventory preparation and maintenance.
Section 1 of the updated document covers general requirements for obtaining the approval of service supplier (AOSS) for the preparation and maintenance of hazardous materials inventories.
The revised Section 2 outlines specific requirements for different aspects of hazardous materials inventory management:
- specific requirements for IHM preparation
- specific requirements for laboratories
- specific requirements for IHM maintenance.
These revisions provide clearer guidelines for service suppliers, hazmat experts, laboratories, and maintenance procedures.
