The Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK) has updated the Guidelines for Container Stowage and Securing Arrangements.
Edition 3.1. of these Guidelines was published on 1 April 2023.
In recent times, there has been a significant increase in the number of freight containers, and container carriers have been growing in size to ensure more efficient transportation.
Additionally, various new technologies have been developed to improve the effectiveness of securing arrangements, methods, and devices for loading containers onto ships.
Consequently, it has become increasingly important to assess the suitability of these container stowage and securing arrangements.
The 3rd edition of this guideline has been published to address the expansion of container ship sizes and advancements in lashing techniques, incorporating the findings from the Comprehensive Renewal of Part C and the research and development outcomes from the ClassNK Research Institute.
