ClassNK: Revised Guidance for Undergoing Class Maintenance Surveys

The Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK) revised its Guidance for Undergoing Class Maintenance Surveys.

The January 2023 edition provides information on survey items, associated requirements, and necessary preparations for surveys, including documentation.

It also assists survey applicants who are ship owners or their representatives in efficiently and cost-effectively conducting scheduled surveys.

Ship owners or their representatives are required to contact the surveyor's office ahead of time to prepare for the planned surveys.

They should also designate a knowledgeable supervisor who is familiar with the survey items to provide the necessary support to the surveyor during the survey process.
