ClassNK amends Rules for Survey and Construction of Steel Ships

Classification Society Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK) has amended its Rules for the Survey and Construction of Steel Ships.

This document has been published on December 27th, 2022.

Some of the requirements amended this time are as follows:

In response to incorporate research and development results;
- Amendment related to the "Strength Assessment by Cargo Hold Analysis”.

In response to industry requests;
- Amendment related to the "Rolled Steels for Low Temperature Service” and “Accumulator Battery Systems”.

In response to changes in international conventions;
- Amendment related to the "Thickness Measurements at Special Surveys”, “Amendment to Stability/Loading Information in Conjunction with Alterations of Lightweight” and “Prohibition of Paints Containing Cybutryne”.

ClassNK: Cybutryne is added to the list of banned substances
Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK) has issued the technical information warning that the Cybutryne is added to the list of banned substances.
