China Classification Society (CCS) has published new Rules for Classification of Sea-Going Steel Ships, along with a notice regarding changes to these rules.
The documents became effective on 1 July 2023.
Rules
The updated version of the Rules for Classification of Sea-going Steel Ships (2023) incorporates various changes, including the following:
- The implementation of 2022 RCN No.3, which became effective on July 1, 2022.
- The introduction of 2023 RCN No.1, which came into effect on January 1, 2023.
- The inclusion of 2023 Amendments to the Rules for Classification of Sea-going Steel Ships, which became effective on July 1, 2023.
These updates and amendments are integrated into the Rules for Classification of Sea-going Steel Ships (2023), providing an updated framework for the classification of such vessels.
Rule change notice
The latest revisions to the Rules for Classification of Sea-going Steel Ships (2023) include several key updates:
Part One:
- Incorporates revisions to ISO 17025 edition and changes reporting requirements for Service Suppliers of BWMS.
- Adds or revises class notations based on new CCS rules and guidelines.
Part Eight:
- Introduces ready requirements for existing CCS class notations, specifying technical requirements, submission plans, and identification forms for ready design and arrangement.
- Develops new chapter for carbon capture system application on ships, including class notation and corresponding plans and information.
