The Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands (MACI) has issued three shipping notices on fees and charges for vessels:
- merchant vessels,
- commercial and pleasure yachts, tenders or submersibles, and
- locally owned vessels, operated and based in the Cayman Islands.
These notices were published on May 5, 2023, and are effective from May 1, 2023.
These notices serve to inform that the Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands (MACI) has established the fees and charges for the services provided by MACI.
These fees and charges, as outlined in these notices, will remain in effect until modified or replaced by a subsequent notice, unless otherwise stated in subparagraph 1.2 of every single notice.
While MACI will endeavor to provide a minimum of 30 days' notice for any changes to the fee levels stated in these notices, it reserves the right to modify fees without notice at its discretion, either in general or in specific cases.
Additionally, alongside these notices, the Merchant Shipping (Fees) Regulations, 2014 (The Regulations) apply to various matters such as vessel registration, registration under an Interim Certificate of Registry, registration of a ship under construction, registration of transfer or transmission of ownership of a vessel, and other matters specified in the Regulations.
