The American Bureau of Shipping has released the revised Guide for Certification of Container Securing Systems.
The December 2023 edition updates the wind load in 6/3.3.1 to consider wind shielding.
Scope
This Guide contains provisions for the certification of container securing systems installed aboard vessels classed by ABS including but not limited to:
- Below deck cell guide systems
- Below deck bridge strut and shoring systems
- Below deck lashing and lock fitting systems
- Above-deck lashing and lock fitting systems
- Above deck buttress and deck cell guide systems
This Guide does not apply to containers on chassis or trailers stowed aboard vessels.
