Classification Society DNV has revised its rules for floating production, storage and loading units.
This document (DNV-RU-OU-0102), was published on 1 July 2023 and will become effective from 1 January 2024.
It supersedes the July 2022 edition of DNV-RU-OU-0102.
This publication presents the DNV rules concerning the classification of various offshore units and floating production and storage units.
It outlines the procedures and terms involved in the classification process and includes a list of relevant technical references for classification purposes.
The document specifically addresses the classification of mobile offshore units falling under the following structural design types: ship-shaped, column-stabilized, self-elevating, cylindrical, tension-leg, and deep draught types.
These classifications are applicable to services such as hydrocarbon production, hydrocarbon storage and offloading, and hydrocarbon loading.
Within its scope, this document offers classification principles, procedures, and design and construction requirements for the covered services and structural design types.
For information related to retaining the class operation of the unit, refer to DNV-RU-OU-0300.
